Since 2021, Sophie Vanhomwegen has been running an artist-run space in Brussels. In addition to showcasing art, she hosts and organises together with other artists multidisciplinary art events and other activities that promote community engagement and artistic exploration.
The first art show at Espace Vanhomwegen took place from September to October 2021 and showcased Vanhomwegen's work and the work of French artist Lucas Rollin. They started to collaborate soon after they met in June 2021. This collaboration resulted in the further development of the artist-run space. From this day on, Espace Vanhomwegen curated more then 5 exhibitions and hosted numerous events presenting live acts, performances and trans-disciplinary art shows.
Espace Vanhomwegen induces to bring artists from different cultural and linguistic backgrounds together. This can lead to new artistic collaborations. By providing opportunities for artists to connect and share their network, Espace Vanhomwegen develop a sustainable artistic ecosystem for the Belgian emerging art-scene.

Depuis 2021, Sophie Vanhomwegen dirige un espace autogéré par des artistes à Bruxelles. En plus de présenter des œuvres d'art, elle organise, avec d'autres artistes, des événements artistiques multidisciplinaires et d'autres activités qui favorisent l'engagement communautaire et l'exploration artistique.
La première exposition à Espace Vanhomwegen a eu lieu de septembre à octobre 2021 et a présenté le travail de Vanhomwegen ainsi que celui de l'artiste français Lucas Rollin. Ils ont commencé à collaborer peu après leur rencontre en juin 2021. Cette collaboration a conduit au développement de l'espace autogéré par des artistes. Depuis, Espace Vanhomwegen a organisé plus de 5 expositions et a accueilli de nombreux événements présentant des performances, des spectacles en direct et des expositions d'art transdisciplinaires.
Espace Vanhomwegen a pour but de rassembler des artistes issus de différentes cultures et de différents horizons linguistiques. Cela peut conduire à de nouvelles collaborations artistiques. En offrant aux artistes des opportunités de se connecter et de partager leurs réseaux, Espace Vanhomwegen développe un écosystème artistique durable pour la scène artistique émergente belge.
